Ireland Telugu Association (ITA) has been organising Sankranti Vedukalu (Indian Harvest Festival) since 2008 in Ireland in the traditional approach. This event is the 19th Makara Sankranti event since ITA inception. Sankranti is a major Indian festival for Telugu speaking people and the entire community meets on this festive occasion to celebrate the festival with family and friends. Everyone is welcome to join the event and celebrate the occasion with Ireland Telugu Community.
Program Highlights:
- Bommala Koluvu: Community are encouraged to bring their own Toy
- Bhogipallu to young kids: Performed in Vedic style...all materials will be supplied
- Gobbillu Ritual: All Girls/Ladies are encouraged to bring their holy Gobbillu to worship
- Haridaasulu: Young children are encouraged to dress up to get blessings
- Elocution in Telugu: Opportunity for children and youth to win prizes
- Muggula Competition: Opportunity for girls to showcase their talent and win prizes
